Mexico coach Naranjo believes fatigue factored into loss to Dominican Republic

Nagoya, Japan, October 10, 2018 - Brayelin Martinez and Bethania De La Cruz scored 12 points each as the Dominican Republic beat Mexico 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-15) in the second round of the FIVB Women's World Championship on Wednesday afternoon and the Mexico coach said he thinks his players are tired.

Dominican Republic coach Marcos Kwiek: I'm happy to get the three points with the win today. That was our target in this match. We served good, our reception was stable and we had speed on our attack. We will now prepare for tomorrow's match.

Mexico coach Ricardo Naranjo: This was a solid win for the Dominican Republic. We could not play our volleyball at all today. It was a lack of preparation for the match. I think fatigue has built up among the players. We will prepare them physically and mentally for tomorrow's match with Puerto Rico.

Dominican Republic captain Bethania De La Cruz: I was a pleasant win for us today. We play them a few times each year, so we know them well. We were able to dominate the match.

Mexico captain Andrea Rangel: There is not much to say. We could not play well. The match ended without us waking up. We did not play like we did against Brazil and Serbia. We will now focus on the next match.
