Captain says Serbia 'one of best teams in the world'

Hamamatsu, Japan, September 29, 2018 - Serbia scored a comprehensive 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-22) victory in Pool D at the FIVB Women's World Championship on Saturday afternoon and the Serbia captain believes they are one of the top teams in the tournament.

Serbia captain Maja Ognjenovic: I think we are one of the best teams in the world. We are in good condition and in good shape. We have trained hard and long for this competition. We will do our best.

Serbia coach Zoran Terzic: It was a good game. We must be satisfied even though we could not play strongly all the way to the end. We have started with a win and that is important.

It will be good if we can play like we did in the first set. A lot of teams are here with the same ambition - to get a medal. We have a change for a good result here.

Dominican Republic coach Marcos Kwiek: It was a tough game. We had a lot of mistakes. We must improve our receiving. They served very well. We must cut down on our errors.

Dominican Republic captain Bethania De La Cruz: We started out slowly. We got better in the second set and found our rhythm. We made a lot of errors and that is why we lost. It's bad to lose, but we can improve.
