2018 Women's World Championship qualification process set to continue in Aruba

 

Guadeloupe finished top of NORCECA's CAZOVA Pool C qualification pool on Sunday

Lausanne, Switzerland, November 18, 2016 - 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship qualifying action resumes in Aruba, where NORCECA's CAZOVA Pool B zonal tournament will take place at the end of November including hosts Aruba, Suriname, Haiti and Martinique.

Guadeloupe and the Bahamas were the latest teams to book their passage to the next stage of their continental qualification process when they topped the CAZOVA zonal Pool C tournament in the Cayman Islands last Saturday and Sunday.

North, Central American and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA)
The NORCECA Confederation will feature seven teams at the next Women's World Championship, including the United States who qualify automatically for the competition as the reigning world champions. Round two of the qualification process will take place in 2017 after Round 1 is completed with the AFECAVOL zonal tournament in Nicaragua and Pool B of the CAZOVA zonal qualifying series to be played in Aruba.



Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC)
Asia will have five teams in the 2018 Women's World Championship, including hosts Japan who qualify automatically as the tournament organisers. The first and second round qualification rounds take place in 2016 and 2017 - Round 1 Pool CZ is scheduled to take place from December 16-20.



African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB)
Africa's two participants in the 2018 Women's World Championship will be decided at a tournament to be confirmed.

South American Volleyball Confederation (CSV)
South America will hold a tournament at a date to be confirmed to decide which country joins Brazil at the 2018 Women's World Championship, who qualify automatically as 2015 South American champions.

European Volleyball Confederation (CEV):
Eight teams will qualify for the World Championship from Europe following the completion of a three-round qualification process. For more information, click here.



The 2018 Women's World Championship will follow on from the highly successful 2014 edition in Italy which was won by the United States. The 2018 World Championship will be the 18th edition of a competition which was first played in 1952 in Moscow in what was then the Soviet Union.
