Team profile

Kenya

After participating in five consecutive editions from 1994 to 2010, Kenya missed out on the 2014 FIVB World Championship, but are back again this year for their sixth appearance in the history of the competition. Their best finish to date is 13th, which they have achieved twice (1994, 1998).
Kenya have twice qualified for the Olympic Games, ranking 11th at both the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Games.
Kenya boast four gold medals at the All-Africa Games. After dominating the event in the 1990s, they returned to the top of the podium at Brazzaville 2015, with a 3-1 win over Cameroon in the final. They also hold nine gold medals from the African Championships, although last time around they had to settle for silver, after losing to Cameroon 3-0 in the final of the 2017 edition in Yaoundé. Can they replicate this continental success on the world stage?
