Their historic title at the 2018 FIVB World Championship boosted Serbia to the top of the FIVB World Rankings.

Lausanne, Switzerland, November 19, 2018 - Serbia shot to the top of the latest Women's FIVB World Rankings, boosted by their historic gold medal at the 2018 FIVB World Championship in Japan, last month, moving up two spots since the previous release of the list.

Serbia, who beat Italy in five electrifying sets in the final at Yokohama overtook both China (who finished third at Japan 2018 with a 3-0 win in the bronze medal match over the Netherlands and fell to second place in the rankings) and USA (who beat hosts Japan 3-1 for fifth place and dropped to third place in the rankings).
