World Champs qualification set to resume in NORCECA

The Dominican Republic will take on Jamaica, Guatemala and Puerto Rico from October 13-15

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, October 8, 2017 - The NORCECA Continental Championship tournament to be played in Santo Domingo from October 13 to 15 serves as a qualification event offering two tickets to the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2018 in Japan. It will be played at the same time as another four-team Continental Championship tournament in Trinidad and Tobago, which will also see the winners and runners-up claim berths at next year's Women's World Championship.

The Dominican Republic will take on Jamaica, Guatemala and Puerto Rico as of Friday. In the second group, hosts Trinidad and Tobago will play Mexico, Costa Rica and Dominica.

The top two teams in each group will join the three teams which have already qualified for the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship from the NORCECA Confederation, namely reigning world champions USA and Canada and Cuba, who were the winners and runners-up at the Continental Championship tournament held in Vancouver from September 28 to 30.
