Osaka, Japan, October 7, 2018 - USA Captain Jordan Larson: Our main focus coming into this game was to have an attack mentality. We had a great game plan going into this game and we served well which created a lot of defensive opportunities for us. I am really proud of our team and obviously this is a great win but we have a long ways to go. Definitely it has not been easy. I think six wins is awesome. Those have not been six easy wins. Our focus through this whole tournament is to get better every single match and I think we have done that. We hope we can keep it going all tournament.
Coach Karch Kiraly: We have great respect for the team from Bulgaria. We watched them play in their first group and they played very strong volleyball so we expected a real battle today. Our team executed a good game plan and we are happy to get another victory. I think a big part of our game plan was attacking very hard with our serving and we caused problems for Bulgaria. We figure the harder we can work now the more energy we will have for the three other great opponents - Turkey tomorrow, China and Italy.
Bulgaria Captain Hristina Ruseva: Today we started the game really bad and made too many mistakes. USA is a team which has too much experience and really good players. I think they deserved to win this game because they showed a really good game. About us, I cannot speak because our quality was not so good.
Bulgaria Head Coach Ivan Petkov: The two teams were at a different level. Our team played badly in all skills, and maybe in reception we played very, very bad. To play good against Team USA you must take 100 per cent of your capacity but today I think we played less and less of our capacity. But our team is very young and we must work, work, work in the future. We have a different target in the World Championship for the next matches. We must take more experience for the future, for next summer.
