Yokohama, Japan, September 29, 2018 – After claiming five wins apiece in their previous FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship encounters, Germany and the Netherlands meet anew for a lead in match wins.

• Germany and Netherlands have met 10 times before at the World Championship, with German teams claiming five wins, and Netherlands winning five times.
• Germany won the last encounter versus Netherlands at the World Championship, 3-1 in 2010, a match played in Nagoya, Japan.
• Netherlands had won the previous three matches against German sides in this competition.
• At world major level tournaments, Netherlands have won 10 of their last 11 matches against German teams, since a 3-0 loss against West Germany at the World Championship in 1982.
