Dutch star Sloetjes says you have to be perfect to beat China

Nagoya, Japan, October 16, 2018 - Zhu Ting scored 19 points to spark China past the Netherlands 3-1 (23-25, 25-13, 25-18, 25-17) in the third round at the FIVB Women's World Championship on Tuesday night and Dutch star Lonneke Sloetjes says you have to play perfectly to beat China.

China coach Lang Ping: It was a tough match. We only have two games left. We have played excellent teams who have given us troubles, but we will prepare in the next two days. Italy is a strong team we will analyze and prepare for the match with them.

China captain Zhu Ting: We are happy we were able to win. I will do my best in the next game as well.

China player Ding Xia: They gave us trouble in the first set. Our defense and block was not good. Gradually we got our pace and were able to win.

Netherlands coach Jamie Morrison: I was happy with the first set. It is not easy to play after a five-set victory like last night. We lost focus and could not make plays tonight. You can't do that against China. We look forward to playing Serbia in the semifinals.

Netherlands captain Maret Balkestein-Grothues: They played well. Our level was not good. We made mistakes and could not make our sideout.

Netherlands player Lonneke Sloetjes: China played solid, and to beat China you must do everything perfectly. After two days off we should be better. We will keep fighting.
