Shimamura,
being called “John”, by her team mates, the nickname was put for John who
appeared on English teaching materials at the English session, is a middle
blocker, born in Kanagawa Prefecture.

One
of John’s favourite foods is a yakiniku,
a grilled meat and one of her favourite music is Japanese Pops and one of her
favourite artists is “Shonan-no-kaze”,
whose birthplace in Shonana area, Kanagawa Prefecture, as one of the most
popular Japanese exciting singing groups.

John
loves to play a game in her spare time and she has a respect for Mrs. Sachiko
Sugiyama, competed and experienced, as a middle blocker, two Olympics in Athens
2004 and in Beijing 2008 but now Sugiyama retired from activity as a player,
who has been acted in the NEC Red Rockets Women’s Volleyball Club, as John’s
belonging team.
