Germany needed to 'push, push, push' to hold off Argentina, says head coach

Yokohama, Japan, October 1, 2018 - Germany Head Coach Felix Koslowski: Argentina deserve to be here because they play at a high level. We expected them to play with great fighting spirit and great technique and tactics and to put us under a lot of pressure. Even when we led by three or four points we never felt safe and had to push, push, push. My players did a really excellent job.

Germany Captain Maren Fromm: Argentina played at a high level and played hard, so it was important for us to fight back. In this sense I am really happy to win 3-0. Depending on how the rest of the games go, the points from this win may be enough to take us to the next round.

Argentina Captain Emilce Sosa: We were able to keep a good level of volleyball throughout the match. The second set was difficult because we could not win when we had the chances. We need to keep this kind of level like we showed today in the coming games. We were able to show that we can play at this level.

Argentina Head Coach Guillermo Orduna: We were able to keep a good level of play and although we could not win the second set we still showed in the match our good play. This match showed the growth of the team.
